On International Youth Day, we celebrate the creativity, dynamism and leadership of young people everywhere.

值此国际青年日之际，我们颂扬世界各地年轻人的创造力、活力和领导力。

This year’s theme – “Different Contexts, Common Aspirations” – reflects a simple truth: that despite their many differences, young people across the globe share similar hopes for dignity, participation and opportunity.

今年的主题是“背景各异，志向相同”，这一主题反映了一个简单的事实：尽管全球各地的青年人在许多方面存在差异，但他们对尊严、参与和机会都有着相似的期许。

It also acknowledges that the toughest challenges younger generations face – most notably economic uncertainty, digital inclusion and climate change – transcend national borders and demand a coordinated response.

这一主题还表明，年轻一代面临着最严峻的挑战——尤其是经济不确定性、数字包容和气候变化，这些挑战已超越国界，需要我们采取协调一致的对策。

Young people are already leading the way as organizers and innovators. But to go further, they need access to the skills that will shape the future – from critical thinking and problem-solving to digital literacy.

青年正以组织者和创新者的身份引领时代潮流。但若要更进一步，他们需要掌握能够塑造未来的技能，其中包括批判性思维、解决问题能力、数字素养等等。

By working with young people as equal partners, we can unlock the demographic dividend, accelerate sustainable development, and bring their energy and expertise to bear on some of the defining crises of our time. They must also be granted a greater role in decision-making processes at the local, national, and international levels.

如果把青年作为平等合作伙伴，我们就可以释放人口红利，加速可持续发展，并利用他们的活力和专长来应对我们这个时代的一些重大危机。还必须让他们在地方、国家和国际层面的决策过程中发挥更大作用。

What unites the world’s young people is greater than what divides them. The United Nations stands with youth everywhere in their call for investment and inclusion. Together, let us build a present and future where every generation can thrive.

全世界青年之间的共同点远远大于分歧。联合国支持世界各地青年发出的增加投入、实现包容呼吁。让我们携手共建一个让每一代人都能茁壮成长的今世和未来。

In these turbulent times, the ocean reminds us that we are bound together.

在这个动荡的时代，海洋提醒我们，我们彼此紧密相连。

It shapes our climate, sustains ecosystems and economies, and feeds billions.

海洋塑造我们的气候，维持生态系统和经济，并养活数十亿人。

But the ocean is in deep trouble – and we are pushing it past its limits.

但海洋正深陷困境——我们正在推动它超越其极限。

The Third World Ocean Assessment, launched today, documents a deepening crisis driven by climate change, overfishing, biodiversity loss and marine pollution. 

今天发布的《第三次世界海洋评估》记录了气候变化、过度捕捞、生物多样性丧失和海洋污染推动的日益加深的危机。

We cannot keep treating the ocean as limitless.

我们不能继续将海洋视作没有极限。

We must build a new relationship with the ocean:

Grounded in science.

Framed by international law.

And built on shared responsibility – across nations, sectors, and generations – to advance the Sustainable Development Goals.

The success of the Third Ocean Conference last year and the entry into force of the Agreement on Marine Biodiversity of Areas beyond National Jurisdiction this year show that multilateral action is possible – and necessary.

去年第三届海洋大会的成功和今年《国家管辖范围以外区域海洋生物多样性协定》的生效表明，多边行动是可能的，也是必要的。

On World Ocean Day, let us act with the ambition and resolve this moment demands.
